A lot of us have received traffic tickets over the years, but many of us are not really sure the impact of such tickets on our driving privileges, or our rights as a driver in Florida.  Most of us simply pay the tickets, thereby receiving points on our drivers license.  Then there are more tickets and more points.  These points carry long-term consequences, including increased insurance premiums, suspension of drivers license, loss of a commercial license, and sometimes even permanent revocation of a drivers license.  Thus, it is very important that all of us as a driver be advised of all options when faced with handling a traffic ticket.

That’s where our office comes in.  The attorney can advise drivers what they can do in an individual situation, keeping in mind the consequences discussed above.  One option may be to set a court date and attempt to obtain rulings that withhold adjudication, thus assess no points, and reduced fines.  Others may involve drivers’ classes, setting hearings, or even going to trial.
