About Lynn W. Martin
Lynn W. Martin has been a practicing attorney in Northeast Florida for over four years, and a practicing attorney in most areas of Georgia for over three years. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she obtained extensive experience in working with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies while working as a Fraud Investigator and Fraud Manager for AT & T Universal Credit Card. As a fraud investigator for seven years, she worked credit card fraud application and counterfeit cases and prepared them for prosecution by such agencies as the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Postal Service, as well as various local law enforcement agencies. She worked with the afore-named agencies providing information and data to help identify fraud rings and cells all over the country. Also, while working as a fraud investigator and manager, she worked with AT&T corporate attorneys preparing cases against cardholders who pursued litigation against the company.
Following her career with AT&T, Ms. Martin obtained her paralegal degree from Florida Community College of Jacksonville and worked as a paralegal for a long time practicing Board Certified criminal attorney and a civil litigation and workers compensation defense firm. It was while working for these firms that she entered into law school, wherein she earned recognition for Dean’s List for multiple semesters and graduated in the top fifteen percent of her class from Florida Coastal School of Law. Ms. Martin engaged in a nine-month internship with the Public Defender’s Office in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. During this internship, Ms. Martin handled her own felony case load as well as assisted several felony attorneys on other cases. Ms. Martin used her expertise in financial crimes to assist other attorneys in the public defender’s office.
After working for several criminal, and family law litigation firms, Ms. Martin opened her own firm, practicing in the areas of criminal law, family law, and civil litigation. She has handled complex felonies and misdemeanors in various counties. She has handled over thirty bench trials, juvenile trials and felony jury trials. Additionally, she has handled and won numerous motion hearings in the criminal, family and civil areas . She serves Duval, Clay, St. Johns, and Nassau Counties in Florida and multiple counties in Georgia. Cases in other counties will be taken depending on several factors including the type of charges, complexity of the case, the circumstances surrounding the charges, etc.
She is a member of the Florida and Georgia State Bars, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the NACDL, (the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers), FACDL, (the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers) and the ATLA, (Association of Trial Lawyers of America). In Florida, Ms. Martin has been admitted to practice in all state courts as well as federal court. In Georgia, Ms. Martin has been admitted in all superior courts, appellate courts and the Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to a career in law, Ms. Martin obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Belmont University and was a television and radio news reporter for several years in Georgia.
Jennifer D. Williams
Jennifer D. Williams has been working in the legal field in the areas of criminal, family and civil litigation for thirteen years. She obtained her paralegal certification from the University of North Florida, and has worked for several large civil litigation firms as well as long time criminal defense attorneys. In addition to her expertise in the above-named fields, she is very knowledgeable about the judicial system, the arrest and booking process, and can provide a wealth of helpful information about the traffic ticket system, forfeiture proceedings, etc.
INVESTIGATIONS
Investigation is one of the most important aspects of a case. The quality of the investigative work will often have a direct bearing on the outcome of the case.
Rick Davis, Chief Investigator with CEO Private Investigating Services, Inc., became involved in the law enforcement community in 1990 after leaving active duty with the U.S. Navy. His knowledge of police procedures coupled with specialized training in the areas of interview, interrogation, and criminal investigation techniques provided him a foundation on which he has built a career performing investigations for attorneys. He became a Florida Licensed Private Investigator in 2002, conducting investigations in all aspects of criminal defense, fraud, divorce, and civil litigation.
Mr. Davis is an active member of The Reid Institute (Reid techniques of Interview and Interrogation) and the National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS). Having a good, dedicated private investigator is a vital part in preparing any case.
